Chat does not have one unit of work. Essenize publishes four starting contracts—Evaluate, Assemble, Compile, Sovereign—then meters the five levers that actually move: messages, monthly users, clubbed volume, model charges, and infrastructure. The calculator below is list-price indicative; production records mix the same levers.

Five levers

Price the work the fabric actually did.

Editions are the procurement name. Levers are how a volume record is designed. Mixed traffic—support overlay plus an internal copilot plus deploy tails—usually commits Compile meters and attaches Sovereign only if residency demands it.

Billable frame

Per message

An inbound or outbound frame that the runtime accepts: user text, agent text, tool call, tool result, or channel echo. Heartbeats, typing indicators, and retry duplicates are not billable.

Monthly users

A unique authenticated subject or durable device identity that opens at least one session in the calendar month (UTC). Anonymous bounce sessions can be counted as MAU or collapsed into messages—set at contract.

Model charges

Tokens are never bundled. Default is pass-through to your endpoint. If Restora routes to a model for you, we bill provider cost plus 12% routing. Prompt cache and embedding jobs follow the same rule.

Infrastructure

On Assemble and Compile, shared managed runtime is in the platform fee (fair-use egress). Dedicated clusters and Sovereign footprints are itemized: nodes, GPU if any, egress, object storage for transcripts you do not keep in your DB, and the observability replica.

Essenize does not resell the parts of the stack you already negotiated. The calculator never pretends those lines are Restora revenue unless you ask us to route models or operate nodes.

Commercial questions

How a record is usually written.

Why not a simple seat price?

A seat hides the work. Overlay support is message-heavy and MAU-light; an internal copilot is the reverse; a streaming deploy tail is concurrency-heavy. Essenize prices the meters that actually move, then wraps them in editions so procurement has a named starting contract.

What is a billable message?

A frame the runtime accepts: user or agent text, a tool call, a tool result, or a channel echo. Typing, presence, and identical retries are not billed. A tool-using turn is therefore several frames—which is honest, because that is the work the fabric did.

Do model tokens sit in the platform fee?

No. Your models remain your invoice. Pass-through is the default on every edition. Restora-routed models exist for teams that have not yet stood up an endpoint, billed as provider cost plus 12%.

How does a clubbed volume record work?

You commit to a monthly message and MAU pool for twelve months. You pay the edition’s annual list (or a custom band). Unused included volume does not roll. Overage stays at the committed rate instead of bursting onto a higher list. That is the Compile path most production buyers take.

What does fair-use mean on Sovereign?

The software license is not a blank check on a Restora-operated cluster. On your metal, capacity is yours. If Restora operates the footprint, we size nodes to the 5M / 250k band and review if you sustain above it for two consecutive months—then we either expand infra or attach overage at the Sovereign band.

Are WhatsApp, Slack, and Discord in the platform fee?

Compile includes two connector licenses; Sovereign includes the software for all of them. Meta, Slack, Discord, and BSP invoices are always pass-through. WhatsApp also carries a $0.004 Essenize surcharge per billable channel frame.

Can we start on Assemble and move to Compile without a migration?

Yes. Same SDK, same session graph, same adapters. You are changing included pools, connectors, and support—not replatforming. Evaluate fees credit toward Assemble, Compile, or Sovereign if you convert within 90 days.

Is the website license the product license?

No. This marketing site is AGPL-3.0 so the source stays inspectable. Runtime, SDK, and support are contracted separately. Talk to Restora before you assume any software grant.
